Victorian era Maid CosyNotion Nanny tea cosy
From the "Maid" cosy series - tea cosies were constructed as Maids in repesentative period costumes. The second sample is a replica of the "Notion Nanny"-representative of the 18th century women who stood on street conrners selling their wares. All cosies were individually designed, and antique laces, embellishments and fabrics were used wherever possible in the costuming. Wigs are made of mohair, and silk and cotton floss was used for embroidery on the faces.
Each piece has a removable, washable cotton cosy, attached by velcro underneath, for easy laundering, to preserve the doll itself. A special "foundation" was developed to maintain shape and balance of these unique pieces.
